Demetria Eats: Ben's Chili Bowl in DC 🌭! Historic restaurant in Washington D.C.

Hi loves! Got a special D.C. treat in store for you this episode. While in D.C. I stopped at Ben’s Chili Bowl, the ORIGINAL location off U-Street. They’re known for their half-smokes, which is definitely a D.C. thing- much bigger than a regular hot dog…and of course their specialty is a chili over everything! This restaurant opened in 1958 and became a historic landmark, serving Black patrons when many restaurants would not. I got lucky and met the 90-year-old owner, Virgina Ali – the wife of Ben (deceased). I definitely enjoyed my experience!
