GOD WANTS TO DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY IN YOUR LIFE // Michael E. Jackson | Acts 14:8-14
**In this sermon, Paul the Apostle and Barnabas are used as examples of how God performs extraordinary works through ordinary people who trust Him.
The passage in Acts of the Apostles 14:8–14 describes a man in Lystra who had been crippled from birth. As Paul preached, he noticed the man had faith to be healed. Paul commanded him to stand, and immediately the man jumped up and began walking. This miracle demonstrated the power of God at work through faith.
The sermon emphasizes several key lessons:
1. God Sees Potential Where Others See Limitation
The crippled man had never walked, yet God saw beyond his condition. Likewise, God sees beyond our struggles, weaknesses, and past failures and desires to do something extraordinary in our lives.
2. Faith Positions You for God’s Power
Paul perceived that the man had faith to be healed. Extraordinary things happen when we believe that God can change our situation, even when circumstances say otherwise.
3. God Uses Ordinary People to Do Extraordinary Things
Paul and Barnabas were simply servants of God. The miracle reminded the people that the power belongs to God, not to human beings. God often works through willing vessels who trust Him.
4. Give Glory to God, Not to People
After the miracle, the crowd tried to worship Paul and Barnabas as gods, but they quickly stopped them and pointed the glory back to God. When God moves in our lives, the credit must always go to Him.
Overall Message:
God specializes in doing extraordinary things through faith, obedience, and humility. When we trust Him and allow Him to work through us, He can transform our limitations into testimonies of His power. What seems impossible for us becomes possible through God.
Central Encouragement:
God wants to move in your life in ways that go beyond the ordinary—if you believe, step out in faith, and give Him the glory.
