HE IS STILL ROLLING BACK THE STONE | Michael E. Jackson | Matthew 27: 62-67, 28: 1-6
**This sermon centers on how what looked like a sealed, hopeless situation became the stage for God’s power. In Matthew 27:62–66, religious leaders tried to make Jesus’ death final by sealing the tomb and posting guards. The stone represented human effort to control the outcome—fear, doubt, opposition, and finality.
But in Matthew 28:1–6, God overturned every obstacle. An angel rolled the stone away—not to let Jesus out, but to show that He was already risen. The empty tomb declared that no barrier—physical, spiritual, or emotional—can stop God’s plan.
Key Message:
God is still “rolling back stones” today. The same power that overcame the sealed tomb is at work in our lives, removing:
• Fear that tries to paralyze us
• Doubt that tries to confine us
• Opposition that tries to block us
• Situations that seem final or impossible
Core Takeaway:
What people try to seal, God can open. What looks dead, God can resurrect. The stone isn’t there to hold you—it’s there for God to move.
