### **Title: "The Enquirer | Tuesday Night Bible Study with Pastor Michael Jackson: 1 Timothy 4:3-16"**
Join Pastor Michael Jackson for this week’s *The Enquirer* Tuesday Night Bible Study as he explores 1 Timothy 4:3-16.
Paul warns Timothy about false teachers who promote deceptive doctrines and forbid things that God has made good—such as marriage and certain foods (vv. 3–5). He reminds Timothy that everything created by God is good when received with thanksgiving and prayer. Paul then encourages Timothy to be a good servant of Christ by staying grounded in sound teaching and rejecting godless myths (vv. 6–7).
He urges Timothy to train himself in godliness, explaining that spiritual discipline has eternal value, while physical training benefits only a little (vv. 8–9). Timothy is reminded that their labor and perseverance come from hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially those who believe (v. 10).
Paul instructs Timothy to teach these truths boldly, not allowing anyone to look down on him because of his youth, but to be an example to believers in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity (v. 12). He’s told to devote himself to public reading of Scripture, preaching, and teaching (v. 13), and to not neglect the spiritual gift given to him through prophecy and the laying on of hands (v. 14). Finally, Paul urges him to stay committed, diligent, and focused on his ministry so that his progress will be evident to everyone and he will save both himself and those who hear him (vv. 15–16).
Paul encourages Timothy to reject false teachings, pursue godliness, live as a faithful example, use his spiritual gifts, and remain steadfast in his ministry—so that both his life and teaching lead others closer to Christ.
